2021 was a difficult year for all of us in the label and ribbon business. Resurgences in Covid-19, raw material shortages, supply chain constraints, and price increases all combined to create unprecedented challenges.

Despite these obstacles, IMP reported record results for 2021, continuing our trajectory as the fastest growing ribbon supplier in North America. Our business has never been busier! We couldn’t have done it without you and thank you for your support. 

Most experts are predicting continued strong customer demand combined with a tight supply market throughout 2022. However, you can rest assured; IMP is taking action to support our customers now and well into the future:

• Increased capacity and additional shifts have been implemented in our Atlanta converting facility. We continue to make significant investments in equipment, automation, and people.
• IMP recently opened a new ribbon converting facility in Mexico, near the US border, and are currently running two shifts on multiple slitters. This increased capacity will supplement our Atlanta production, while also expanding our Latin America footprint. 

• IMP has increased raw material and stocking levels by over 40%. Our supply chain is strong, and we’ve made significant improvements in our delivery and production lead times. Standard items generally ship within 1-2 days and custom produced ribbons are now running about 7-10 days, a substantial improvement from the past several months. We will continue our efforts to get back to our original lead-times within the next few months.
• New, state-of-the-art high-speed coaters have been installed in China and the United Kingdom, adding capacity and strategic production redundancy for our operations.
• We’ve also expanded capacity for extruding PET film. We are the world’s only vertical integrated producer of TTR, and this will continue to be a critical element of our strategy to remain competitive and deliver on time during these exciting and challenging times!
